My Dear Mother & Father,
Received your letter yesterday very pleased to hear all are keeping well at home. The Divisional Band came over to us this afternoon & gave a few selections, it reminded me of Bank holiday at the Park. There is a town not far from here where we can get a good feed any time so when funds permit I make myself useful. The bombing job is some cinch, as we rarely do more than 3-4 hours work in the morning & parade about three times a week in the afternoons; if it keeps so I shant grumble. All the chaps have a leather waistcoat each though it’s big enough to go over the tunic & equipment very warm I understand. Well cheer ho all & kind regards to neighbours.  Love to Ethel and selves.

Your affect Son
