My Dear Mother & Father,
Received your parcel yesterday in good condition & letter today. Many thanks for parcel. We came out of the trenches Sunday, don’t know when we’re likely to be going back. The weather here is grand, just like summer how is it at home? Our trenches are at Hebuterne & are getting rather warm now. Don’t forget some sausages in next parcel they’d go down A1. Hope Dad is still busy & keeping fit. How is Ethel getting on at bus: & all at home? The clocks out here have not been altered. The bombers had a job of road clearing today some – job too. Will write again soon. Kind regards to all neighbours & love to all at home.

Your affect Son
